Terrestrial laser scanner
Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS) are active systems typically mounted on a tripod. Lidar is a ranging system, measuring red reflectance and distance of a target from the sensor. The instruments sensor transmits and measures a response, using visble to infrared wavelengths for lidar.
Interpretation and analysis of these data sets requires a completely different approach to standard optical image data.
