| Kasper Johansen | CSER | I have used eCognition 4, Definiens Professional 5, and Definiens Developer 7 for segmentation and object-oriented classification of high-spatial resolution images of (1) riparian zones in multiple environments, (2) forest structural classes in western Canada, and (3) banana plantations in north Australia. I am currently working on developing process trees for mapping riparian zone attributes. I am also testing and comparing object-oriented change detection approaches with pixel based change detection techniques. I have attended several Definiens training courses including the Definiens Professional Migration course, the Definiens Developer Essential course, and the Definiens Developer Rule Set course. |

I have used Definiens for
segmentation of high-spatial resolution images of coral reefs and am
in the process of working out a process for using field survey data
to label the segments. I am supervising a number of projects using
Definiens to map riparian, mangrove, wetland and seagrass/coral
environment from high- and moderate- spatial resolution images. I
have a long standing (16 years) background in multi-scale image
analysis and hierarchy theory and am very keen to use both of these
in Definiens.
