Field based

Field based measurements, of EMR (e.g. sunlight or temperature) or bio-geo-physical properties are collected using specialised instruments and survey techniques. This can be done by walking, or in some form of vehicle. The location of a measurement is usually also recorded using a GPS or surveying equipment.
