View Queensland Tenement Exploration Permits Interactively with Google Earth KML file

Site illustrates IM4DC project for A geoscience information model for improving the efficiency and transparency of mining approvals process in North Africa

The project aims to assist geoscience agencies in developing countries, like North Africa, to build computer management applications with geographical information system (GIS) technology for streamlining mining approvals and exploration reporting. Using Google Earth the project developed a pilot application for open access to geoscience tenement infmation. The intention is to integrate this with other geoscience information to: i) provide more open access for community, ii) assist mining exploration, iii) to view history for potential environmental impacts. The pilot project is based on a exploration permit data from the Queensland Geological Survey, but is intended tobe used for training purposes.
If using Google Earth, it is recommended that you always load the file and open Google Earth by selecting the link below to ensure that you use the latest version. Please note that Google Earth version 6.0, or higher, is required to run this file.
